Betfair allows you to trade the sports markets like you do the financial markets. The sports markets have an additional advantage in that they are open Saturday and Sundays (unlike the financial markets). Additionally, around the world, there are sports events happening all the time and Betfair allows you to have a punt on them when they are happening. This means that you can truly trade 24 hours a day for 7 days a week (including Xmas and other public holidays!)

I've gone back to playing with Betfair over the Xmas period since the currency and stock markets have been closed over this time. For those who follow my blog, you will note that I've not placed a bet on Betfair for a while as I've been doing rather well with the Forex markets.

I have been rather these few months with getting married, 9-to-5 job and everything else that I've not spent much time updating the blog. However, I am still doing a lot of spreadbetting on the Forex and Indices and it's all going well.
