Hi All,

My name is Alan and the idea of this blog is to share ideas about creating wealth. Currently 10% of the population own 90% of the wealth.. why is that? There are loads of theories but this blog is about exploring this and discussing about ways to save/make money!

So what am I currently doing now? Well, I work in a corporate firm and the career is going well! I have always wanted to climb the corporate ladder to prove to myself and indirectly to my father that it’s possible. My father never believed that it was possible without the right connections and not being middle class. Anyway, I’m getting there

Besides all this, I dont like the idea of being dependent on this job of mine.. what happens if I get made redundant? What happens if the company go bust? Ok ok, I can get a new job but what happens when I retire? I’ll need to rely on my pension which may not be enough.. so how about learning how to make and/or save money forever? I’m not there yet but there are ideas and ideas which float in my mind all the time!

Being in the UK is great… I like how we have good regulations such as the FSA and trade bodies to protect consumers. If you’re a budding capitalist, you know your money is safe in the UK. There are also so many opportunities in the UK also, you need some sweat, perseverance and luck…  you’re not penalised on your colour, race or creed..

So what sort of stuff do I look at? Financial trading, spreadbetting (finance and sports), Betfair, CFDs, casinos, property, Ebay, affiliate web marketing, freebies and other alternative investments. I’ve looked at most things, it keeps life interesting and if you have a hobby which can make you money then fantastic!  

I’ve also joined a trading academy and they are training me up to become a trader. I have a dummy account to play with and have a few months to prove myself. I need to make it! I chronicle my thoughts and trading via the S&P emini futures trading on the blog here… hopefully, I’ll be able to share what I’m doing right (and wrong) and be accepted as a trader. If I qualify then I am backed by their firm on their accounts and earn part of the profits. Wish me luck!
